Tennessee

Family and friends-
Pete and I just got back from a vacation to Tennessee. We stayed in Pigeon Forge Tennessee. We had such an awesome time traveling through the Smokey Mountain National Park, sightseeing in Gatlinburg, splashing around in Splash Country and riding coasters in Dollywood. In the mountains we explored Cades Cove, Laurel Falls and Clingman's Dome, the highest point in the Smokey Mountains. We were so very blessed to spend this time together and vacation in the mountains! Hope you enjoy our pictures almost as much as we enjoyed taking them! Love, Michelle & Pete

Clingman's Dome

It was quite cold in the mountains and Pete is looking for warmth :)

The mountains were truly "Smokey" that day!

Oh no Pete! Don't fall off the edge of the mountain!

The following pictures we stopped and took during our drive in the smokies.

the creeks we seen were just as breathtaking as the mountains

Dollywood

On our way to Dollywood Amusement Park riding the trolley...

This candy store was amazing.. every kind of sugar you can imagine.

Outside the diner, Red's Drive- In. It was a cute diner and an adorable group of singers came and serenaded some people in the audience with some 50's music.

We really enjoyed Dollywood. It had a beautiful, scenic setup.

A replica of Dolly Parton's childhood home

On Tuesday we went to Splash Country, a water park in Pigeon Forge. It was a beautiful day in the park! Quite a different experience without kids! Can't wait to bring them back.

a super steep water slide. Lots of fun!

On Wednesday, Pete and I took a drive through Cades Cove in the Smokies. There we took a horse drawn carriage ride. Our driver said he had seen 5 bears before us. We were so hoping to see bears in park. No such luck! The view was awesome.

my prince and my carriage awaits..

Our horse, Stumpy.

the deer were feeding in the woods at the information center in Cades Cove. They were about 25 feet away. It is amazing how comfortable they are with people.

On Wednesday, Pete and I also took a hike to Laurel Falls. It is one of the most popular waterfalls in the national park.

1.3 miles doesn't seem that long.. but, it was uphill and very hot. It was worth the hike.

These pictures are taken on the space needle in Gatlinburg. The Gatlinburg Space Needle is an all steel observation tower served by two elevators. It is a glass elevators over 400’ to observation deck for 360° view of the Great Smoky Mountains.
